Shantel testified on the stand that the MAO did not do a Financial Disclosure request of Robin Fleming prior to the sell, that the financial ability of the buyer was only a very small part of who to sell it to.

Robin just admitted on the stand that she had over 1,000 phone calls with Mr. Straub, and that they had multiple meetings each month.

I honestly don’t know what to think after the first day of court. I really can’t say where the judge is going to land with his decision. It’s such a mess. Basically what we learned is that there really was no plan when Robin “bought” Miss America. It basically was a word of mouth agreement between Glenn and Robin. Glenn had the money and Robin had the skill to lead it. Glenn says she worked for him, but she didn’t take a salary. She says he was her lender, and that she had a “tab” with him and had an agreement to pay it all back eventually. Sounds like there are lots of fake documents that got created at some point.

I do feel bad that Robin basically got scammed in this whole thing. I think she genuinely thought she was/is the owner. But she didn’t have the money and needed Glenn. I’m not sure why a grown adult would think that a verbal business deal would be successful in the long run, especially if you Googled him and saw his track record.

My personal leaning is that they have joint ownership. If I were the judge, I’d give them each 50/50 ownership. I know that wouldn’t go well. The only thing they would be able to do would be to sell, like you might do in a divorce.

Tomorrow Shantel takes the stand at 9:30am ET. Same Zoom info:

I spoke to Robyn yesterday and she said that anyone who has experienced any bullying in the org, especially in Pennsylvania, should reach out to her personally. Her social media is public so other victims can contact her, and she is keeping all names anonymous unless otherwise agreed to beforehand. My daughter came forward to her back in March and she still hasn’t shared her name, or the names of any other victims. Even the other girl who spoke out in this article still was able to remain anonymous after withdrawing from the organization.

We will all have to support our new leaders once they take control. I feel ending pageantry is a small sacrifice. Of course, pageants have not specifically been mentioned yet, only that women will be required to be modest and godly, but it is just a logical step to ban them once we have the right people in place. Thoughts?.

Wonder, if tonight during the live coverage of the opening day (first day of four) of the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will we see any state or national pageant titleholders there.

Do pageant winners usually attend these sorts of political conventions, namely if they are held in their home-state or nearby? In this case, Miss Wisconsin, Miss Wisconsin-USA or other pageant system queens?

Doing anything from being host-city/state greeters to on-stage providing the 31-word Pledge of Allegiance, or sining this famed song to the convention visitor and television audience:
http://amhistory.si.edu/starspangledbanner/the-lyrics.aspx

Any memorable pageant appearances at any political conventions in the past? C-SPAN is airing it all day and night, with major networks commennceing telecast coverage at 10 pm Eastern/9 pm Central/Milwaukee, Wisconsin time.

By the way, Mr. Trump must like to pick white men from the upper Midwest with five-lettered "NCE" last names to have chosen Michael Pence in 2020 and John David Vance today, July 15, 2024. JD is the youngest at 39, turns 40 on August 2nd.

This Wednesday (tomorrow) the trial over who owns Miss America begins. It’s important to note that this phase is not the actual case to hear who owns Miss America. This is the case to decide who gets to run Miss America in the interim until the actual case is decided. Robin asserts that she should maintain control since she has been running it up to this point. Glenn asserts he and his team should be able to take over immediately. The judge has also already mentioned that he has the option to appoint a “third party” interim CEO to guide the organization until the final case happens.

Everyone in the org should listen to the trial. It’s super easy to listen in anonymously. Here is the info:

https://us02web.zoom.us//88244742921

MEETING ID: 882 4474 2921

Both Kay Alexander and Jan Mitchell have been subpoenaed to testify that Robin is doing a good job.

Today, we are learning so much about the woman who has been leading this organization for the past 18 months. None of them good. She doesn’t pay her taxes. She declares she was “prey” of Glenn’s. Has no paperwork to back up any of her claims. Her lawyers have no proof of ownership to present, so are just trying to bring in other issues Glenn has.

She has subpoenaed two long time Miss America volunteers to testify that she is an excellent business woman. My heart breaks for them. They know clearly that she has single-handedly dismantled the national scholarship fund. Under Robin’s new rules, their 2023 winners received Zero Dollars at Miss America. They have both seen all the new money that must be raised and turned over to Robin. They have both seen numerous friends of theirs removed or silenced due to our leaders spite.

Glenn, if you or your team is reading this, we could all give you a long line of people could testify regarding Robin’s business ability. Starting with the Regalia guys; going to the past two formers; the previous CO board and many others in the USA system, the dress business and probably even Pilllsbury.

We will never view Robin the same again. She was looking for that brass ring. And again failed.

Subject: Robin's Dictatorship is Destroying Miss America

I'm fed up with the way Robin is running Miss America into the ground. Her dictatorial approach is forcing everyone to bend to her will and cater to her sponsors. The recent email she sent, targeting several dress sponsors and dictating where contestants can order their dresses, is utterly absurd. Who does she think she is? Contestants should have the freedom to choose their own sponsors and attire without her heavy-handed interference.

Robin should be shaking in her boots over the pending lawsuit. Sure, she has some state directors backing her up, but that's only because they're scared of getting fired. It won't be enough to save her. She's nothing but a crook who rigged the 2024 competition and will undoubtedly rig the next one. Anyone who tries to stand up to her or Ryan Brown is immediately blacklisted. It's disgraceful and damaging to the integrity of the Miss America organization.

And let's talk about Henris. They're as crooked as they come, lining Robin's pockets while trying to force contestants to use their services. The gift certificates Henris is giving out will just be padded into the prices of their gowns, so it's not really a gift at all—just another way to milk money from the contestants and their families.

It's infuriating to see such shady liars at the helm, destroying the legacy of Miss America. We need transparency, fairness, and leadership that genuinely cares about the contestants and the true values of the organization. Robin and her cronies are nothing but a stain on Miss America, and it's time for a change.

For all of those who were not around on this day 40 years ago, July 9, 1984, or wish to see it again, here is the 1984 Miss Universe pageant held in Miami, Florida USA.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w35YG59YK8
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Universe_1984

We know that host Bob Barker died last year (August 26, 2023) at age 99, but where today are the contestants who competed for the coveted crown of Miss Universe 1984 back on July 9, 1984??

Arkansas: Camille Cathy (Miss Arkansas's OT 2018)
Hawaii: Haley Chaney-Kane (Miss Hawaii's OT 2013)
Idaho: Madison Andreason (Miss Idaho's OT 2021)
Kentucky: Chapel Tinius (Miss Kentucky's OT 2016)
Missouri: Ashley Berry (Miss Missouri's OT 2021)
New York: Abigail Quammen (Miss Kentucky's OT 2017)
Oregon: Abigail Hoppe (Miss Oregon's OT 2016)
Pennsylvania: Page Weinstein (Miss Pennsylvania's OT 2014, Top 12 at MAOT 2015)
Wisconsin: Mandi Genord (Miss Wisconsin's OT 2018)

With Colorado have no former OTs in the roster, I think this will be the first time in almost a decade to have 10 former OTs in the 2024/25 class.

I have a client who competed and I need others' opinions. They had to purchase ad pages as well as ticket packages that included program books. At the pageant there were no program books distributed nor was anyone told of a delay digital book etc provided

She found out after the pageant, that the books hadn't even been sent to print. I feel that the board should refund the ad page money as well as the cost of books from the guest, personally - as a small business if I pay for a specific ad feature I expect that to be run. Another coach said was a lofty ask as the board likely needs to money but I feel its about integrity. Open to others opinions

Ok maybe I’m old school, but is anyone else noticing more and more titleholders post questionable things on social media. I’m seeing so many skimpy swimsuit posts, showing of alcohol and drinking, excessive partying, and even tik toks and reels with vulgar lyrics. Sometimes even WITH crown/sash on! Has social media caused the young ladies of this generation to have so little class? Thoughts?

I am so tired of seeing copied versions of custom wardrobe. It’s so obvious when they are bad copies and I know it bothers the original contestants who came up with their designs. Much rather have the person wear something off the rack, couture, or their own design. No one needs to be copying custom designed wardrobe.

Hi all! I am new to the MAO VA pageant circuit. Attended a few locals and the state pageant to get a feel for the org, as I come from a Bible Belt super southern pageant state. It definitely seems more laidback here from what I’ve seen. Just wondering about the boards, girls, etc. where I am from the state board and even some locals can be shady — i assume it is just inevitable. Just wanted to ask about insight on the MAO VA system. Thank you in advance!

Subject: Would someone start a thread about NY? I’m very interested in your opinions. I don’t know many of them, but a few look amazing. I’d like to keep it positive and hear from some of you! I don’t see any interest in NY on this page anymore and I find that odd, considering they always have a top 10 and produced quite a few winners.

I don't know either of these girls and have no dog in this fight besides being familiar with the accusations through this message board. But a judge GRANTED a restraining order based on evidence and now the MAO accusing the victim of wrongdoing is just not a good look. It reeks of whistleblower retaliation and blaming the victim.

Will this organization EVER do something right again???

Story and the MAO official statement here.
