In the previous installment, Boruto followed the trail of the mysterious Code. But when Boruto finally caught up to Code, he suddenly found himself face-to-face with unusual Divine Trees. Boruto quickly realized these supernatural trees could actually think and move on their own. A battle broke out, and during the struggle, Boruto learned where these entities came from – they were created from the bite of a Claw Grime creature.

He also discovered one of the Divine Trees had transformed and taken on the appearance of none other than Sasuke! After barely managing to escape the chaotic scene, Boruto returned to his hideout still in shock.

There he saw the unthinkable – his mentor Sasuke, somehow turned into a Divine Tree! Shaken by the sight, and desperate to save Sasuke, Boruto turned to the renegade Kashin Koji, believing he could be a useful ally against this newly emerged, grave threat.

Recap and Review

In the latest part of the Two Blue Vortex manga series, we got more insight into Boruto and Sasuke’s histories, learning more about what happened to them during the time period that was skipped over.

This newest installment of the manga starts to reveal things that took place about a year after the events that were shown in the previous manga volumes.

We see Boruto and Sasuke training really hard together. They are working so intensely that eventually, Sasuke decides they need to take a break and rest for a while.

He and Boruto sit down beside a warm, crackling fire pit to recharge. During this pause in their training, curious Boruto asks Sasuke to confirm whether he has fully mastered the special fighting techniques passed down through the Uchiha clan over the generations.

Not long after their conversation, Boruto and Sasuke were suddenly attacked by a villain named Code. During the fight, Code used one of his Claw Grimes abilities to turn Sasuke into a tree.

With Sasuke incapacitated in tree form, Boruto took Sasuke’s sword and started working hard to master all of the techniques Sasuke had taught him.

We find out that this incident actually happened two whole years prior to the current events taking place in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series.

So Boruto has had plenty of time – two full years – to keep practicing and get very skilled at wielding Sasuke’s sword and using all the jutsus Sasuke had shown him.

We’ve also seen clues in recent chapters that Boruto has learned some new techniques too, like the Flying Raijin Jutsu. And he has even invented his own unique move, called Rasengan: Uzuhiko.

Looking at all the hints we get from the latest Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 5 spoilers, along with things that happened in the past, everything indicates that Boruto has now become much more powerful than his master Sasuke Uchiha.

This might seem shocking to fans, but we should remember that Sasuke did lose his Rinnegan eye power when Borushiki took over Boruto’s body that one time.

With no Rinnegan, Sasuke’s abilities were reduced to what his Mangekyo Sharingan eyes could do. Now of course, Sasuke is still extremely strong with just his Mangekyo Sharingan, but he only has access to one of those special eyes at this point instead of two. So he’s basically operating at half the full potential he had when he still had both eyes.
